We spoke to Joe Eggmoless whose unique and powerful story is told in the documentary Fantome Island screening at the Human Rights Arts and Film Festival on 26 May. Taken at the age of 7 from his Pacific Islander family, Joe was sent to a leporsarium on Fantome Island, which was created solely for indigenous people suffering from leprosy.
