Jewish Film Festival, Women’s Rights and Homelessness in Australia – The Thursday Podcast

By Right Now Radio

On this week’s Right Now Radio podcast on Triple R, Ben Schokman (aka Stockman) and Rachel Ball (aka Ballsy) speak to  Caroline Lambert, a human rights hero who has been fighting for women’s rights for over 25 years.  We pick Caro’s brain about her views on reproductive rights in Australia, the female condom (including directions on how to use it) and The Julia Gillard Misogyny speech (just how progressive was it?).

Evelyn Tadros swaps her arts reporter hat with Anna Dorevitch this week and interviews Lucy Adams, Senior Lawyer from the Homeless Persons’ Legal Clinic about the new homelessness figures released from the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the recent investigations by The Age into evictions of people, particularly children from public housing.

Finally, Anna Dorevitch chats to Eddie Tamir, the director of the Jewish International Film Festival about this year’s festivals and human rights themed films.  Ever wondered what “chutzpah” means? Anna asks the question so tune in here to find out!
