Interviews at the 2012 Legal (r)Evolution Conference – Part II

By Right Now

On Friday 16 March, the Progressive Law Network held its 2012 Legal (r)Evolution Conference.

It began with a keynote speech from the Hon Michael Kirby AC CMG, and was followed by three sessions focused respectively on ‘Planet’, ‘People’ and ‘System’.

The speakers included people working in the diverse areas of community legal service, legal aid, law reform, academia and adjudication, among them Dr Peter Burdon, Felicity Millner, Elizabeth McKinnon, Antoinette Braybrook, Roy Reekie, David Manne and Angela Pollard.

Right Now, in conjunction with Plug-In TV, attended the Conference  and interviewed its speakers with two simple but very telling questions. Part I asked, How do you envisage the role of law as a vehicle for social change? Part II asks the question:

What do you see as the greatest challenge to social justice in the next decade?
