Andrew McIlwraith is a First Nations man of the Bundjalung Nation (descendant of the Webb and Williams families) and Worimi Nation (descendant of the Russell and Ping families). He is currently studying a Bachelor of Social Science and a Bachelor of Development Studies at the University of Newcastle and holds a Ma and Morley scholarship. Andrew’s work displays a fundamental belief, that the essence of Indigenous practices is to adapt while maintaining a cultural core to create community and foster healthy Country.
